History

One of the four homes on the block finished in 1917 is this two-story home built by Mr. and Mrs. William R. Ingram. Mr. Ingram was in the oil business.

The house is a mixture of Colonial Revival and bungalow designs. While still owned by the Ingrams, it was rented briefly to Virgil Browne, who went on to achieve fame as the owner and manager of the Oklahoma Coca-Cola Bottling Company.

In 1927, the home was purchased by Mr. and Mrs. Irving Perrine. A native of New York, Perrine was a well-known geologist who mapped Oklahoma’s oil fields as director of the geological survey, then helped E.W. Marland exploit some of the largest oil fields in the Mid-Continent Field. Before moving into the home on 14th, he and his wife completed an extensive remodeling, adding the porte-cochere and bedroom on the west. Mrs. Perrine lived in the home until her death in 1976.

Current owners purchased the home in 1978. They have done a complete kitchen expansion and remodel and razed the garage & guesthouse and replaced it with a 3-car garage and guesthouse.
