Nichols completed his row of houses on 17th with this Colonial Revival home, sold to Mr. and Mrs. Charles W. Gunter in 1920. A native of Mississippi, Gunter built a career in life insurance, then expanded into banking. In 1912 he became vice president of Guarantee National Bank.

After moving into the house on 17th with his wife and three children, Gunter helped organize Liberty National Bank, then resigned as president to purchase Security National Bank. In 1929, when Security merged with American First to create the First National Bank of Oklahoma City, Gunter became vice chairman of the board and chairman of the executive committee.

In 1931 the Gunters sold the house on 17th and moved to Los Angeles. Subsequent owners included Mr. Roy Randerson, an oilman; Mr. and Mrs. Clifford Frates (Me had grown up in the neighborhood, the daughter of Mr. and Mrs. James Rodman); and Mr. and Mrs. Jack Rainer.
