Typical of the block, this home is a combination of styles with strong horizontal lines. The first owner was Mrs. N.T. Scott, who quickly sold to Leo F. Stapleton, a cotton merchant with Bass, Maxwell, and Stapleton. His wife, Margaret, lived in the house until 1924.

From 1926 to 1958 the home was owned by Mr. and Mrs. William A. Quinn. William started his career as a sales manager for a wholesale grocery firm, then organized his own building contracting firm. They were followed by Dr. and Mrs. William W. Schottstaedt, who replaced the fireplace front in the living room, updated the kitchen, and redecorated.

In 1974 the place was purchased by Dr. and Mrs. O.H. Rundel. O.H., a biological psychologist, and Shannon, a realtor, remodeled and added French doors to an exterior wall of the breakfast room.
