Constructed in 1916, this home was originally built of wood in the Colonial Revival style by Marie and Edgar Honnold. Edgar, a native of Indiana, had just moved to Oklahoma City, where he built one of the largest municipal bond businesses in the state.

During the 1920s the Honnolds added a yellow brick veneer, wide-tiled front porch and aporte-cochère. Three hooded gables complete the tile roof, and intricate dentil work is along the façade of the front porch. The exposed stairway, which has two landings, ascends to the second story corridor. Extravagant ironwork supports the stair railings. Marie remained in the home until 1973.

In 1981, after the property had been occupied by the Cleeks, Youngs, and Linns, the home was purchased by Millie and Johnson Hightower. Johnson was a fourth-generation resident of Heritage Hills. His great grandfather, Frank Johnson, built the Neo-classical mansion at 15th and Walker. In 1949, it was extensively remodeled by his parents, Frank and Dannie Bea Hightower. His grandparents, Mr. and Mrs. Wilbur Hightower, owned houses on 15th and 21st.

After moving into the home on 16th, Johnson and Millie, began a gradual renovation. They removed carpets which had been added in the 1970s, refinished the hardwood floors, repainted and repapered, added a large deck on the back of the home, and added multi-terraced gardens in 1980. The home was featured on the 1996 Home Tour.
