History
This was the first house constructed on the block, the home of Mary and Tom L. Green. Tom was a native of Kansas, where he owned a lumber yard and started a construction company. As chief contractor, he paved most of the streets in Picher during the lead and zinc boom, then moved to Oklahoma City where he constructed most of the bridges and paved most of the streets in the near downtown area. Two discovery wells in the North Oklahoma City field were named after Mary, the Mary Green #1and #2.
The Greens divorced in 1936, but Mary remained in the house on 21st until the 1970s.
