In May of 1919 Nichols took out a building permit for $8,500 and started work on this two-story frame home, a combination of Colonial Revival and bungalow styles. Nichols sold the completed home to Mr. and Mrs. August W. Hauck. August, president of the Darling Lumber and Manufacturing Company and vice president and treasurer of the Oklahoma Sash and Door Company, remained in the home until his death in 1945. His widow, Jean, lived there another seventeen years.

In 1972 the home was purchased by Mr. and Mrs. John T. Eberle. John, an attorney, added two and a half bathrooms, enlarged and remodeled the kitchen, and converted the basement into two bedrooms and a playroom.
