In March of 1921 developer E.C. Ross purchased this lot and started work on a two-story brick home using a Colonial Revival pattern. It was sold to Mr. and Mrs. Ernest J. Schowalter. Schowalter, manager of the Maxwell Investment Company, sold it in 1925.

In 1963, after changing hands several times, it was purchased by Mr. and Mrs. Robert Brown, who updated the kitchen, added central heat and air, refinished the floors and walls, replaced the driveway, walks, patio, and fence, and built a redwood deck in the back.
