The first home on the block was this two-story frame built in 1912 by Dr. and Mrs. Charles D. Ferguson. A native of Canada, Dr. Ferguson was the brother of Dr. Edmund G. Ferguson, who had just built the home at 700 N.W. 15th. Together, they opened the Ferguson and Ferguson Clinic, specialists in the treatment of eye, ear, nose, and throat.

The Fergusons sold the house in 1916 for $11,500 to Bertha Scott and James R. Armstrong, an associate judge with the Oklahoma Court of Criminal Appeals. They had two children, William Jefferson and Jasper. James was born in January 1876 in Jackson County, Alabama. He moved to Hugo, Oklahoma in 1904. He was elected to the first Oklahoma Court of Criminal Appeals in 1910 and served until 1920. In the 1920s he was an advisor to Governor Henry S. Johnston. James lived in the home until his death in 1957 at the age of 80. His wife, Bertha, remained until1962.

In early 1985 the home was purchased by Mr. and Mrs. James M. Blalock, who painted the exterior and began a general renovation.
