This home provides stark contrast to the irregular lines of the English style homes on the end of the block. It was built in 1921 by Norman W. Truss, owner of Truss' Walk Up Shoe Store on W. Main.

Truss lived in the house until 1950, when it was sold to Mr. and Mrs. Charles Walbert. According to neighbors who knew him, Walbert was an oilman who counted among his friends opera star Lily Pons, who stayed in the house several times.
