Bungalows were extremely popular in Oklahoma City from 1919 to 1925. They were affordable, costing from $6,000 to $10,000, and they could be built with endless variations. This one-story bungalow, built by G.A. Nichols in 1919, was finished in stucco instead of the usual redwood lap siding.

Nichols sold the completed home to Mr. and Mrs. Charles C. Post. Post was a well-known lawman, having served as chief of police in Oklahoma City during the tumultuous transitions from territory to state. In 1907 he organized a “flying squadron” of officers to bust bootleggers and bawdy houses. The publicity-minded officer later entered the real estate business. His widow remained in the home on 20th until1967.
