Where as most of the original 1902-to-1920 residents of Heritage Hills were from other states, a new generation of native born Oklahomans began moving into the neighborhood in the 1930s. One of these homeowners was John Harrington, who bought this 1921-vintage Colonial Revival dwelling in 1930.

Harrington was raised in Oklahoma City, where he attended Central High School and went on to complete his degree at the University of Oklahoma. After graduating in 1924, he found a $75 a month job at Security National Bank and began working his way through the ranks. After moving into the home on 18th,Harrington survived the merger with American-First National and eventually became vice president in the new bank, First National, and chairman of the executive committee in 1964.
