History
The last home built on16th was this brick duplex, completed in 1927 by Mrs. Bernice McClure. Bernice was the widow of Guy McClure, a regionally prominent structural engineer, former city manager, and son of former 89er and territorial rancher, William McClure.
Unlike many duplexes with side-by-side designs, this was designed with complete living space on both the first and second floor. The home has been remodeled upstairs using parts of the original living room and a part of the dining room to create the master suite and the master bath is the other half of the original upstairs dining room. The garage was added at some point prior to 1955 and was later replaced and included an upstairs efficiency. The Heigle family featured the home on the2003 Home Tour.
