History
Nichols sold this lot to Mr. and Mrs. John R. McKnightin 1916. McKnight, a cotton broker, then hired contractor Jack Gill and started work on this $3,900 frame home.
By the 1970s it had become a dilapidated rental unit, a constant violator of city codes. To solve the problem, HPI purchased it in the late 1970s and resold it with a restrictive covenant to guarantee its rehabilitation.
