In April of 1922, just as Nichols was finishing the five properties at the east end of 18th, he sold this home to Mrs. Emma Wood. It was a Colonial Revival design, but with the additional features of a large, covered porch, massive columns, and red tile roof. Like many homes constructed before air conditioning, the builders added a sun porch and sleeping room on one side to catch the southerly breezes during the summer.

In March of 2004 Debbie and John Benn bought the home in March of 2004. Their living room featured a large fireplace with a built-in glass fronted bookcase to one side. The sunroom with three walls of windows also included a large brick fireplace.

The Benns cut into one wall of the dining room, making access to the basement door, and another half wall cut out to open the dining room into the kitchen. Upstairs, the house featured three bedrooms and two bathrooms. The master bedroom had a white brick fireplace and small sitting room with windows on three sides adjoins the master bedroom. The garage and guest house has two large French doors which open the entire space to the backyard and large deck. The Benns featured their home on the 2010 Historic Homes Tour.
