George Sappington built this bungalow for $7,500 in 1921. At the time he was credit manager of W.J. Pettee and Co., a leading hardware store. He later opened the Oklahoma Maytag Sales Company in 1926 and eventually became president of Hickman, Inc., retail distributors of furniture and appliances. Sappington remained in the home until 1965.
