History

This two-story frame, constructed by Nichols in 1919 with a building permit for $6,000, was one of his best airplane bungalows, a pleasing balance of low-pitched gables, horizontal lines, and broad sweeping front porch. Inside, Nichols added distinctive touches such as oak woodwork, crown molding, beamed ceilings, and beveled glass French doors.

Several families have occupied the home, including Mr. and Mrs. Creed Huddleston, who lived here from1930 to 1968. In June of 1983 it was purchased by Dr. Robert W. Nickeson and Mrs. Nadine Spring, who remodeled the kitchen and breakfast room, replaced the roof and began a general rehabilitation.
