Opportunities in the retail marketplace also attracted Joseph Myer, the man who purchased this Colonial Revival home from G.A. Nichols in 1922. A native of Missouri, Myer began his career in Chicago, where he learned the wholesale clothing business. He moved to Oklahoma City in1898 and established the B&M Men's Clothing Store on Main Street.

In 1930, three years after the death of Mr. Myer, his daughter Maree and her husband, Milton Lewinsohn, moved into the home to be with her mother. Lewinsohn, a native of Chicago, had come to Oklahoma City in 1920 to help run Lewinsohn's Men's Clothing Store. After moving into the family home, the Lewinsohns added the enclosed porch and sleeping room on the east.
