History
This was the middle member of the three homes built in the summer of 1924. Nichols’s architects used the Tudor half-timbered detailing to provide just the right amount of variation while still retaining continuity of style. It was sold to Mr. and Mrs. Joseph F. Maystrick.
Maystrick was a native of Ohio who moved to Oklahoma County with his parents in the1890s. He joined the army and served in both Cuba and the Philippines during the Spanish American War, then entered the meat market business with his brother-in-law. By the time he and his wife purchased the house on Classen Drive, they had four daughters.
In 1976, after the home had changed hands several times, it was purchased by Karen and Phillip Napier. Both educators, they started several improvements. They enlarged and remodeled the kitchen, redecorated the interior, added brick to the driveway, and converted the upstairs gas fireplace to a wood-burning fireplace. They featured their home on the 1981 Historic Home Tour.
