History

Typically, Nichols built the homes of Harndale in sets of three. This home, along with those at 1508 and 1520 Classen Drive, was started in July of 1925 and purchased by J. Virgil Dobbs, owner of a cotton gin on East Avenue. He remained only a few years. Owners who stayed longer were Robert Rapp(1931–1948), secretary/treasurer of Rapp Drilling Company, and Albert M. DeBolt(1951–1977), the son of Oklahoma City pioneer, A.M. DeBolt, who built the ornate mansion at 1801 Hudson Avenue.
